Here's an account of a
hilarious protest action in, where else, Berkeley, California, where activists disrobed and laid down on the ground to save an old-growth grove of trees that are being cleared to make way for a new structure at UC Berkeley. Some of 'em climbed and laid down in the trees, too! Wow, that's dedication to a cause. Oh, except they're not
actually old-growth trees. Oh, and they aren't going to cut
all of them down. Oh yes, and eventually there will be
more trees in the area because of the project. Oh, sorry, and the project's been shelved for the time being due to seismic concerns. Hmmm. Come to think of it, why
are we doffing our clothes and risking a bark or wood chip enema? Oh heck, let's admit it's just for the attention.
